The Court of The Hague has ruled that the Dutch authorities may, at this moment, not refuse BIG-registration to a non-EU professional with an EU diploma.
This applies to the system of automatic recognition of professional qualifications for the so-called sectoral professions: nurses, midwives, doctors, dentists, pharmacists, architects and veterinary surgeons.
In this case, the court ordered the automatic recognition of an Eastern European pharmacist with an Italian diploma and subsequest registration in the so-called BIG-register.
For more information see the decision in Dutch.
The pharmacist was assisted before the Court by Niels van Steijn.
